SAP provides the Legacy Source Migration Workbench to assist customers in the migration of legacy data into SAP. An excellent solution, it does however have one limitation, the creation of source metadata and data is still a manual process. Source Aid for the LSM Workbench addresses both the source query creation and metadata definition issues. It works with LSM Workbench, complementing its functionality but never duplicating it. Source Aid allows a user to point to any ODBC-enabled data source and define a query whose columns are automatically presented to LSM Workbench as metadata definitions and whose data is used for uploading to mySAP.

LSM Workbench provides the Transformation and Loading components of an ETL job. Source Aid supplies the Extraction piece, making LSM Workbench a full end-to-end tool.
